Description
Service Workers clean floors, carpets, bathrooms, windows, common public areas for large facilities and organizations, such as hospitals, businesses, schools, and gymnasiums. This job involves identifying damage or areas in need of repairs and organizing supplies and equipment. Service Workers work primarily indoors, although they can work in a variety of different settings depending on the organization they work for. This job is well suited to people who can work competently under minimal supervision, who have the strength and stamina to lift medium to heavy equipment and spend long hours on their feet, and who can follow instructions clearly and work to a set schedule.

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Required – High School Diploma
Preferred – One year of Janitor/Custodian or janitorial/custodian experience.
Preferred – One year of experience operating floor care or motorized equipment.
Listening skills – strong active listening skills help Service Workers follow instructions clearly and understand what is required of them before beginning a task.
Attention to detail – Service Workers ensure that the area they are managing is cleaned thoroughly, so attention to detail is a key aspect of the role
Time management – this job requires the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and to set schedules, so applicants need good time management skills
Physical stamina – Service Workers spend most of their workday on their feet, operating cleaning equipment so good physical strength and stamina is a must
Mechanical skills – this job involves using, driving and charging floor cleaning equipment and tools, so applicants must be familiar with mechanical equipment
